About us

Me, I'm Mamma, a thirty something, mother of three boys, and one little girl (she may possibly be a dog, but don't tell her that!).  I am a full time college student, I am going to school for business and finance and will hopefully have a Bachelor's degree before my kids go to college....I don't have much longer to go because my oldest son is sixteen!!!

In 2010, I separated from my husband and took a year off, while I was figuring out what I wanted to do with my life.  It was the most painful year of my life, thank goodness I had my family there to support me.  While I was there, I decided to move and go to school.  I had no idea where I wanted to move to and let my sons help me make the decision.  They wanted to move to North Carolina where we had some friends that we had known for years.

In 2011, the boys and I moved to North Carolina to start our new life.  The town we lived in was tiny and there was not much to do.  We made some new friends and started our new life.  It didn't take long to realize that this tiny little town in North Carolina was not for us.  After I finished most of my Associates Degree, the boys and I, along with our beautiful little girl Molly, moved to Somewhere near the beach.

Finally we were home!!  It didn't take long for us to get settled in our new home.  The boys went into the same school district that they had been in before my separation, so they had some friends that they had known since they were much younger and they were loving life living right by the beach.

In the time that we have been here Somewhere near the beach, the boys and I have found happiness and peace again.  We have a place to call home and we are happy here.  One of the things that I love about this place is my home.  I had never really found my style before and since moving back to Somewhere near the beach, I have definitely found what suits my personality and style.  I started refinishing furniture when I moved to North Carolina, first it was just little pieces like a little side table here and there and then my pieces got bigger and better.  (This is from my other blog and I will update with all of our stories eventually...for now, I will let this do).  Thank you for visiting and please, leave me a link back to your blog so I can get to know you.

I wanted to comment on the tag quilts, but couldn’t find a way to post, except here. Great idea, but was concerned about the dye from ribbons running when getting wet or from little ones sucking/chewing on them.
